Here are some answers to some common questions I receive from my clients. Don’t see the answer to your question? No fear, just head over to my contact page and ask me, I promise I will get back to you very quickly.
I have worked with clients of all types, sizes and locations. Some common examples are Small Businesses, Startups, Non-Profits, Restaurants, Real Estate Agents, etc. I have also worked with many designers, turning their designs into working code.
It all depends on what exactly we are doing! I usually charge by either a fixed price (that I would quote you beforehand) or an hourly rate for smaller items/ongoing maintenance. I like to work fast and knock projects out as quickly as possible but time-frame can vary based on my overall workload. If your project has important dates just let me know and I will be sure to accommodate them.
I prefer Cash, Check or Chase Quickpay. Depending on the project I can also accept credit cards via Paypal.
I am probably the strongest in HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL and WordPress. I have dabbled in many other languages and platforms though. Some other areas that I consider myself very comfortable with are Joomla, .NET, Drupal, DotNetNuke, Coldfusion, JQuery and Adobe Creative Suite.
My IT career path began at an early age as I have always been facinated by computers. The first language I picked up was visual basic at around age 13. I grew up in Naperville, IL and moved to Chicago after landing my first “grown up job” after college (Eastern Illinois University). I worked at SmithBucklin Corporation for about 7 years doing various development work and database maintenance for associations and non-profits.
No. I recommend that my clients use BlueHost for hosting. BlueHost is outstanding, has everything you will need (including email) and is priced very affordably (as low as $3.95/mo).
Many reasons! For one, its me working on your project not 10 different people. This allows me to have strong working knowledge of every aspect of the project and your business in general. Another great reason to use a freelancer is because its CHEAPER! Your only paying for the work I’m doing, not all unnecessary overhead that comes with large companies, like project managers, secretaries, office expenses, etc.
